Notes

Allow the hot chocolate to cool completely, then transfer it to a pitcher or glass jars and refrigerate. Stir or shake before serving, as natural cocoa may settle slightly. Serve over ice if desired. | Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. | To reheat, pour into a saucepan and warm gently over medium-low heat until hot, stirring occasionally. Avoid boiling. | Individual servings can also be reheated in the microwave for 1–2 minutes, stirring halfway through. | Make a batch at the beginning of the week and enjoy it two ways—warm and comforting on chilly evenings, or cold as rich homemade chocolate milk straight from the fridge.
